If Water Gets into the Engine…

The first of the troublesome situations you may encounter with the rise of the water level is the danger of water entering the engine. If the flood level rises further and reaches the air filter housing position, water may be sucked into the engine through the air intake duct. Since combustion will not occur with water entering the cylinders, the engine will stop, but the engine's internal parts may be damaged.

Disconnecting the Battery Connections of the Submerged Vehicle is a Condition

If the vehicle is submerged, we recommend disconnecting the battery, changing the oil and oil filter, renewing the air filter, and removing the spark plugs before restarting.

The air filter housing should be free of water, the air filter should be replaced, and the spark plugs should be cleaned or replaced.

Do Not Start Engine If Water Gets into Fuel System!

Although it is a closed system, water can enter the fuel system. In such a case, the engine will not start, or even if it does, it will show poor performance. Even after draining and filling the fuel system, the vehicle's performance may gradually degrade due to corrosion in the fuel system. If water enters your vehicle's fuel system, empty the fuel tank, and fill in fresh fuel.

Water Destroys the Braking System!

Another problem that can be experienced with driving may be the decrease in the braking ability of your vehicle. Sediment carried by floodwaters will cause momentary interruptions in braking performance. Another problem with the brake system is that water leaks into the brake system if the front wheels or the brake master center are submerged underwater. On the other hand, water lowers the boiling point of brake fluid, thus reducing its compressibility. So, the brake fluid is now compressible.
